લેસ્ટરના શ્રી વિનય કવિની ચિરવિદાય વેળાએ શ્રધ્ધાંજલિ તેમની જ એક ગઝલથી

જનમથી મરણ સુધી

આમ તો વાત પ્રણયની નયનથી નયન સુધી,

હોય વિસ્તાર પણ એનો ધરાથી ગગન સુધી.

આ બંને પ્રસંગોએ જીવ પડીકે બંધાય છે મારો,

એના આગમન  પહેલાં પછી એના ગમન સુધી.

નથી તેજ આંખોમાં કે નથી જોર મારા કદમોમાં

દિલની લગન લઈ જાય છે એના સદન સુધી.

આ છે દયા એની કે કરે છે પરિક્ષા મહોબતની ?

આપે છે મુલાકાત તો એ પણ આપે સપન સુધી.

વહે છે રાતદિન ઉરમાં ને ટપકે છે આંખોથી,

નથી હદ મારી વ્યથાઓની માત્ર કવન સુધી.

ભળી જશે પ્રાણ તો પંચભૂતમાં એ છતાં પણ,

રહી જશે આંખડી ખુલ્લી એમના દર્શન સુધી.

નહિતર એ માનશે કે હું કરી ગયો બેવફાઈ,

એ મોત, થોભી જા તું જરા એના આગમન સુધી.

રોપું છું આજ છોડ અમનનો અને આટલું ચાહું,

એ ફૂલેફાલે અને જાય સુગંધ મારા વતન સુધી.

લખો સ્મરણ શિલા પર એની તો આટલું લખજો,

કવિતાને પૂજી છે ‘બદનામે’ જનમથી મરણ સુધી.

પરિવારને સાંત્વના સદ્ગત કવિને અંજલિ, વિનયભાઈની અચાનક વિદાયથી શોકની લાગણી વ્યાપી ગઈ છે

We are sorry to hear about the sudden death of Vinay Kavi. The memories of our last visit to Leicester on the occasion of the launch of his last collection of ghazals “Dil Ek Dard Hazar”are still vivid in our minds. We will not forget the warmth and the hospitality Vinay Kavi had displayed on that day. He was a good poet, writer and such a lovable and likable person.

This was followed by his attendance at the Bolton Mushaira on 19^th October 2008 where he presented his love poem so beautifully that the hall resounded with the shouts of once more, once more. He finished, leaving the audience extremely pleased with his poem and his peformance. Now that he is no more, our mushairas will not be the same. He will be really missed.

We will no doubt miss his charming personality and child like innocence. These are rare qualities, not found in many people these days.

May his soul rest in peace and may God grant you all the strength to bear this sudden loss with patience and courage.
